A Future Aces School

We are pleased to welcome back all of our returning students and families and we would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new students and families. The beginning of each school year is always filled with the excitement of a fresh start!

At Herbert H. Carnegie, we will continue our strong commitment to student learning through intentional, focused instruction for each student.  In addition, we will work together to continue to build a safe, supportive and inclusive school climate.  We know that when parents, teachers and students view one another as partners in education, a caring community is formed and student learning is supported.

We are committed to ensuring that each of our students has the opportunity to grow and learn in a positive and safe environment which focuses on social, emotional and academic learning and growth.  As a school community, we are deeply committed to Dr. Carnegie’s Future Aces Creed and to our School Academic focus on 21st Century Skills, using Assessment FOR Learning as a high impact strategy to achieving our goals.

As we start a new year,  it will be the responsibility of  each and everyone of us to contribute to the building of  a positive, inclusive community. We will work together to minimize the environmental footprint we leave on our community.  To start the school year with a respectful environmental philosophy, all staff, parents and students are asked to work together to demonstrate respect by:

    • bringing a boomerang lunch (using reusable lunch containers or bringing their lunch refuse home)

    • participating in the recycling program within the school

    • turning ‘lights and screens off’ for electronics when not in use, and,

    • avoiding idling during pick up and drop off of the children.

We look forward to a rich and impactful year for all our learners at Herbert H. Carnegie!  We look forward to working together to support your children in achieving to high expectations!

Michael O’Reilly,
